A Day Out With Thomas!

Well, on May 27th, 2011, we took the boys to Peninsula, Ohio and spent "A Day out with Thomas!"  It was one of the most expense things we have ever took the boys out to do, but well worth it in the end.  Back in April I bought the tickets online.  $16 a pop for 2 years and older plus $4.50 per ticket processing, shipping and handling.  Yeah......

So, we picked up Teagan from school that Friday and told the boys we were going to a new restaurant for lunch.  We headed to the Winking Lizard in Peninsula and had a fabulous lunch... with all the other little kids that had gone to see Thomas earlier or were going to see Thomas like us.

When we were seated, the hostess asked if we were going to see Thomas and (luckily the boys didn't hear her!) I wispered "YES! But it's a secret!"  So she laughed and gave them crayons so they could color.  After lunch Ethan asked if we were going home.  I said, "Later.  How 'bout we go a new way home and look for some railroad tracks?"  Ethan promptly got happy and said, "OK MOM!"  So we went driving through the valley and sure enough at the end of the road, in big bold, colorful signs, was "A DAY OUT WITH THOMAS!!!"  How I wish I had a camera in my hands at that moment.  Our van got so loud with the boys screaming!  Teagan screaming, "I see Thomas!" and "LOOKY!!!!! TRAINS!!!!"  Ethan screaming, "I WANT TO RIDE THOMAS!!!!!"  Goodness, the mayhem!  I had never seen them so happy!

We went to tent after tent with different activities.  Model trains everywhere and one display was set up exactly like Sodor with all the trains moving everywhere.

Of course the gift store was SO EXPENSIVE that you could have gotten anything for 50% cheaper just by going to Toys-R-Us.  So, happy for me, I was able to walk right on through with not one problem from the boys.

All in all, it was a very fun and happy day.  The boys and I had experienced our 1st train ride and it was with Thomas.  It was a 25 minute ride and we loved it.  Our only splurge being this wonderful picture of the boys with Thomas.
